Ingredients used to make Pastel de Choclo

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Half teaspoon of paprika
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • Half broiled chicken, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of raisins
  • One and a half tablespoons of chopped Kalamata olives
  • 3 cans sweet corn, drained
  • 2 teaspoons of dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 teaspoons of white sugar
  • salt

STEPS TO MAKE PASTEL DE CHOCLO AT HOME

  • Take a big pot to add eggs with some water in it. Keep the pot on the gas stove and bring to a boil
  • After boiling remove it from heat, and let eggs start in hot water for 15 minutes.
  • Till the time Take a frying pan and place it on a gas stove, add some oil to it, and heat it over medium flame.
  • Now add onions, garlic, a pinch of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of paprika, and some pepper.
  • Cook it till fragrant, for about 2 minutes. Then add beef, salt, paprika, and more pepper.
  • Cook and stir till it gets browned, it will take about 5 minutes. Then Add chicken, raisins, and olives.
  • Take out the eggs and wash them under cold running water, and peel.
  • Chop and add it to the beef mixture.
  • Put corn with basil in a blender and blemd it then Pour into a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add butter; cook and stir until thickened, 7 to 10 minutes. Stir in milk, sugar, and salt. Continue cooking about 15 minutes more, until thickened to a paste.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
  • Pour pino into a baking dish. Cover it with the corn paste. Add a little sugar to its top.
  • At last Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown on top, about 20 minutes.
