How To Make Smorrebrod: Smørrebrød is an open-faced sandwich that usually consists of a piece of buttered rye bread, dark brown bread, dense, topped with commercial or homemade cold cuts, pieces of meat or fish, cheese or spreads, and garnishes. It is very healthy as well as a delicious dish which is basically originated in Denmark. The main ingredients used in this are butter, cold cuts, pieces of meat or fish, cheese, spreads, and garnishes

How To Make Smorrebrod

Ingredients used to make Smorrebrod:-

  • 500g of sliced rare roast beef and cured salmon
  • Crispbread, dark rye, or pumpernickel bread
  • 4 boiled eggs and must be peeled and sliced
  • 4 radishes, finely sliced
  • Horseradish cream
  • 200g of sour cream or ricotta
  • 2 tablespoon of horseradish sauce
  • 2 tablespoon of chopped dill
  • Mustard honey and dill sauce
  • 2 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped dill
  • 3 spoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • Quick-pickled cucumbers
  • 1 cucumber, unpeeled, finely sliced
  • 100 ml of rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon of castor sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt

STEPS TO MAKE SMORREBROD AT HOME

  • Take a medium-sized bowl and add 200g of sour cream or ricotta, 2 tablespoons of horseradish sauce, 2 table spoons of chopped dill. Now mix them properly with help of a whisker or a spoon.
  • Mix properly so that no lumps are formed and the mixture is smooth. Our Horseradish cream is now been prepared.
  • Now take another medium sized bowl and add 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 table spoon of dijon mustard, 1 table spoon of red wine vinegar, 1 table spoon of finely chopped dill, 3 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil.
  • Now mix them properly with help of a whisker or a spoon. Mix properly so that no lumps are formed and the mixture is smooth. Our Mustard honey and dill sauce is now prepared.
  • For the quick-pickled cucumbers, add cucumbers in a bowl and toss them in the rice vinegar, sugar, and sea salt.
  • Then refrigerate it for about 30 minutes. After completion of 30 minutes drain it.
  • Now set the sliced meats and fish on bread. Above them spreads the sauces prepared and add some toppings.
  • Now our delicious dish is prepared. Serve it in serving plate and enjoy eating it with y our loved ones.
